P-38

This is a P-38 hand gun. It is the only handgun in my collection that requires a clip instead of a drum for ammunition. This is a semi-automatic handgun with an 8 round magazine. Its place of origin is Germany and around 1,000,000 of these were made for the Germans for WWII. Many other military used this gun, but the most commonly known is Nazi Germany in WWII.

This gun is significant to me because it belonged to Papaw’s father. I’m not really sure how he came across this weapon but I sure am glad he did. It is an amazing piece to my collection. Papaw never really spoke much about this gun, I guess that would be because he didn’t really know much about it. But whatever the reason I’m sure he would be proud of me sharing all of his weapons with you all.
