This shotgun is a pump-action loading system. It is a Stevens Model 520 and was manufactured by J. Stevens Arms & Tool Co. in 1909- 1916. There was 191,000+ pump-action shotguns made. It was designed by John Browning. This shotgun was used by the U.S. Military in three wars, WWII, Korean War, and the Vietnam War. This model is believed to be a 16 gauge or a 20 gauge.

This is significant to me because like all of the other guns it belonged to my Papaw. All of the guns will be cherished and will be kept in my family as long as I have control over them. I will pass them down to my kids when they are old enough to shoot and hunt. I have yet to shoot this gun and the previous Parker Bros shotguns yet because it is believed that today’s shotgun ammunition is to powerful for these old firearms and can blow the barrels out and can cause serious if not fatal injury. I do plan on shooting all of the guns that are new enough to handle today’s ammunition.
